Last Spring 2010, for the first time Atlanta’s Dancehall and Reggae fans were treated to a star studded line up of Jamaican performers.  Gyptian led the way with his #1 song on the Billboard Reggae Charts ‘o a frenzy of ladies in the audience.

Talawah Journals sat down with Gyptian before entering the stage to speak with him about his feelings on music. life and his new success.

My most inspiration comes from life, what I see around me…You know I listen to Bob Marley, Luciano at times.  It just depends whose singing good music at that time.

I wonder if VP Records knew the impact Gyptian would have on the reggae market when the signed him several years ago? The song “Hold Yu” has become a smash hit for the record label spending over 12 weeks on  Billboard charts.  The song has drawn out Hip Hop and Trinidadian born rapper Nicki Minaj for  a remix.
